Decubate

Decubate is empowering its community of investors with a new governance system to drive the platform's growth and success. This transparent and objective system will allow users to have a say in crucial decisions related to improving the crowdfunding process. Proposals will be made by both the team and investors, and the final decision will be based on the majority vote of the community. With this move, Decubate is poised to become the leading platform for web3 businesses, unlocking the full potential of the decentralized economy.

At Decubate, we are on a mission to be the all-in-one platform that empowers entrepreneurs to launch, manage, and grow their web3 businesses. Our overall vision is to be the leading platform for accessible, innovative, and credible solutions that unlock the full potential of the decentralized economy. To achieve this goal, we need to ensure that our community of investors has a say in decisions that will impact the crowdfunding platform, and that's why we're excited to announce the implementation of our governance system!

As a community-first platform, we are always listening to the needs and feedback of our customers, and implementing our governance system is a natural progression for us. The governance system will allow our community of investors to have a say in certain vital decisions related to questions like how to improve the crowdfunding process altogether.

The governance process will be transparent, easy to use, and an honest representation of the reality of votes displayed on our website and in the community environments for all to see. This will improve our investors' involvement and empower the success of the web3 businesses we work with.

How will the Governance System work?

Now, let's dive deeper into how the governance system works. First of all, the voting power of each user will be calculated based on a snapshot of our user’s DCB amount staked on our platform. The time the snapshot is taken determines the voting power at that particular moment. If the user acquires the required tokens after the proposal has been created, they will not be considered for their voting power calculation.

Voting duration

Next, the voting duration we typically take to let people cast their votes is typically 72 hours (3 days). After a voting proposal has been submitted by the team or by anyone else, there will be some period of time in between before users can vote on that proposal and have time to upgrade or purchase more voting power in the form of (staked) DBC. How long this period lasts will be determined on a case-to-case basis and communicated beforehand.

The proposals

Our governance system is designed to be transparent and objective. We believe in objectively presenting proposals to the community and providing a clear and thorough explanation of the proposal's potential impact on the platform and the community. Our goal is to ensure that all members completely understand the proposal, enabling them to make an informed decision based on their best interests. By presenting proposals objectively, we can help our community understand the ins and outs of each proposal and the potential impact of either decision. In doing so, we can promote a more informed and engaged community and thereby help projects get valuable input on their business.

The process

  • Proposal submission: At first, proposals will only be made by the Decubate team and objectively presented to the community and with enough context so that people can form an honest opinion. Later, we envision letting our investors create proposals for various subjects.
  • Community voting: The community of DCB token holders can vote on crowdfunding platform changes such as changing the governance structure, changing launchpad processes, voting on changes in our staking system, and other aspects that might impact and improve our platform.
  • Transparency: The voting results would be publicly displayed on the Decubate governance dApp and updated in real-time to provide transparency and accountability.
  • Decision making: The final decision would be made based on the majority vote of the community, ensuring that the choice reflects the preferences of the majority. The way a majority is chosen might change based on governance decisions.
  • Neutrality: Objectivity is an essential aspect of our governance system.

We are thrilled to announce these new changes, and next to the introduction of our burning mechanism, it’s one of the primary initial significant milestones on our roadmap to come to life. We believe that empowering our community to participate in the decision-making process is essential to the success of our platform and the web3 businesses we work with.
